All I really wanted my debut E.P. to be was catchy and enjoyable to listen to. The songs themselves aren't overly cryptic or even artistic really - I just wanted to try and get a sound worthy of someone's Repeat button on their music player. Somewhere along the way, I thought the songs were starting to kind of bridge a gap between pop/alternative and modern folk, maybe that's true, I don't know. I really did try to embrace an organic sound embodied with soul - the two guiding sonic orientations I feel I'm drawn to the most. Tracks such as "Red Eye Flight" and "Susannah" focus on hooks with alt-inspired vocals, while the song "Sweetheart" channels a sparse indie-folk feel. The process was an experiment - could I possibly get my shit together long enough to actually finish an E.P.? It took as long as I'd thought it'd take, but I got there in the end. Hope you can enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together :)
